Research and evaluation
We carry out research and evaluations covering all aspects affecting disabled children, young people and their families. We also train and support disabled teenagers – with the complete range of impairments –to carry out research and evaluations.
Consultancy
We offer a range of consultancy services helping organisations meet the ordinary aspirations of disabled children, young people and their families. All our work follows a pattern of listening, enquiring, facilitating discussions with staff to identify aims and aspirations, and creating action plans to take the work forward. We provide follow up support shaped to the needs of particular organisations.
Facilitation
We know that many people working within organisations struggle with putting their high aspirations for disabled children and young people into practice. We facilitate discussions within and between agencies to find solutions to local challenges. Given the well documented difficulties faced by young people and their families as they leave school and move to adult services, this work is particularly successful to support the development and implementation of dynamic multi-agency transition strategies.
Training
Using the outlines listed in "examples of our work" we adapt our courses to meet your needs. Although all the courses stand alone, when they are put together they provide a comprehensive understanding of how disabled families can be supported to live ordinary lives.
Supervision and mentoring
In response to the needs of young people and families embarking on self directed support we offer supervision and mentoring for Personal Assistants. We work with individual PAs and groups. In order to reduce isolation we extend this service by offering PAs and families networking opportunities.
