Voices

All our work is underpinned by the voices of disabled children, young people and their families.

We believe that everyone communicates in one way or another. We work to help people understand this and to develop ways of capturing voices that are easily overlooked.

We create opportunities for disabled children, young people and their families to tell their own stories. We carry out consultations to inform and develop systemic change. We work with organisations to help them develop ways of capturing the voice of children and families as a matter of course in order to inform their strategic development.

"Some children don’t communicate through speech or language. Some parents are too tired and stressed to complain, or lack the confidence to speak out. Who will find these people?  Who will help those children and parents who haven’t got a voice?"
(Parent, 2009)
